On the other hand, the 2020 Canyon Denali is powered by a 3.6L V6 that makes 308 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. Both pickup trucks have 10-speed automatic transmissions on Four-Wheel Drive models and 8-speed automatic transmissions on Two-Wheel Drive models. The gas mileage for both trucks are really similar, with the Sierra clocking in at 22 miles per gallon for 4WD and 23 miles per gallon for 2WD. For the Canyon, it gets 24mpg on the highway.
Tech Highlights
GMC has consistently had the driver's in mind when developing modern technology. The Canyon has a lot of safety/security features including brand-new tire fill alerts, back seat reminders, and HD rear vision electronic cameras for trailer safety. The Sierra also has a list of tools to help owners tow with commanding control with the Prograde Trailering System. With that system, the Sierra has an in-vehicle trailering application, smart trailer integration, and advanced hauling capacity. Audio-wise, they both share Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility via an 8-inch diagonal GMC stereo system. The Sierra also offers a cordless charging pad for compatible mobile phones within easy reach. For pickup safety, both vehicles have a Teen Driver option that encourages safe driving behaviors.
